1. Introduction

File Transfer ("we", "our", or "us") is a local, offline file-sharing application that enables direct phone-to-phone transfer of files over Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct — no internet connection required. This Privacy Policy explains what information we access, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using File Transfer, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials
• The files you send or receive — they transfer directly device-to-device
• Your location data (GPS coordinates)
• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or analytics data
• Usage patterns, crash reports, or diagnostic logs

3. App Permissions

The app requests the following permissions, each used solely for its stated purpose:

None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit data to us. All operations stay on your device or local network.

4. Local Data Storage

File Transfer stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Transfer history — a log of files sent and received, stored in local app storage
• Settings — your preferences such as save folder location, username, and avatar
• Trusted devices — a list of devices you've approved for auto-accept

This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time from Settings → Clear Cache, or by uninstalling the app.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

File Transfer displays ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain information to serve personalised or contextual advertisements, including:

• Device advertising ID
• IP address and general location (country/region)
• Device type, OS version, and language settings

This data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalised ads through your device's ad settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation).

Ads are never shown during active file transfers or in the Fast Transfer flow.

6. Children's Privacy

File Transfer is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us immediately.

7. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party libraries and services:

• Google AdMob — ad serving
• Flutter / Dart — open-source UI framework (no data collection)
• Hive — local on-device database (no data leaves device)

8. Security

All transfer requests between devices use HTTPS / TLS encryption with self-signed certificates generated fresh on each session. This ensures that file transfers on your local network are encrypted and cannot be intercepted by other devices.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
