eBook Reader | Tixonic Infotech
This Privacy Policy explains how Tixonic Infotech ("we", "us", "our") handles
information when you use the eBook Reader mobile application
(package: com.tixonic.ebook.reader). We are committed to protecting
your privacy. This policy is written in plain language so you know exactly what happens
with your data.
eBook Reader does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our own servers. All data related to your books, reading progress, highlights, and notes is stored exclusively on your device using local storage (Hive database).
We do not collect:
When you use the Book Discovery feature, the app fetches publicly available book metadata (titles, covers, descriptions) from third-party content sources including Project Gutenberg and compatible OPDS catalogues. This is a standard network request; your IP address may be visible to those servers as with any internet request. We do not control or receive this data.
The app also integrates third-party SDKs (Firebase and Microsoft Clarity, described below) that automatically collect certain anonymous usage and diagnostic data such as screen views, feature interactions, session duration, crash reports, and device type. This data does not personally identify you.
Google AdMob (Advertising)
The app includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK. When ads are enabled, Google AdMob may collect device information and advertising identifiers to serve personalised or non-personalised ads in accordance with Google's own privacy policy. You can learn more at: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
On Android, you can reset or opt out of personalised ads via Settings → Google → Ads.
Firebase Analytics (Google LLC)
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app — for example, which screens are visited, which features are used most, and session frequency. The data collected is anonymous and aggregated. Firebase Analytics may collect:
This data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with their privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy. You can opt out of analytics data collection on Android via Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation.
Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC)
We use Firebase Crashlytics to detect, prioritise, and fix stability issues in the app. When the app crashes or encounters a non-fatal error, Crashlytics automatically collects and sends a crash report that may include:
No personally identifiable information is included in crash reports. Reports are processed by Google LLC: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Microsoft Clarity (Session Analytics)
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand user experience within the app. Clarity records anonymised session data including:
Clarity does not collect personally identifiable information, financial data, or the content of your books. Session recordings are anonymised and used solely to improve the app's usability. Data is processed by Microsoft Corporation in accordance with their privacy policy: https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.
Text-to-Speech (Listen Mode)
The Listen Mode uses your device's built-in Text-to-Speech engine (e.g., Google TTS or your system default). Book text is processed entirely on-device; no audio or text is sent to Tixonic Infotech or any external server.
The following data is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded or shared with Tixonic Infotech:
You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the application or clearing app data through your device's Settings.
eBook Reader is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.
Personal reading data is stored locally on your device — its security depends on your device's own security features (screen lock, encryption, etc.). Analytics and crash data transmitted to Firebase and Microsoft Clarity is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Local app data is retained on your device until you delete or uninstall the app. Firebase Analytics event data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted. Crashlytics reports are retained for 90 days. Microsoft Clarity session data is retained for 13 months.
Depending on your country or region, you may have rights regarding the data collected by third-party SDKs (Firebase, Clarity). You can:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
